Advanced Technology
Cone Beam CT
Our practice utilizes state-of-the-art, cone-beam CT (computed tomography) technology that provides highly accurate, 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of endodontic disease. This allows three-dimensional visualization of teeth, bone, sinuses and surrounding structures with minimal radiation to the patient, enabling a level of anatomical accuracy and patient care not possible with 2-D technologies (regular dental x-rays). We are able to scroll through microscopic sections of the teeth and surrounding structures in all 3 planes: top to bottom, side to side and front to back. With the addition of cone-beam CT technology to our office, our practice is committed to providing innovative, high-quality, patient care.
Digital Imaging
Digital imaging allows us to store patient images, and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to specialists or insurance companies. Dental radiographs (x-rays) are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Charles E. Brown, III, DDS, PLLC utilizes Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 90 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital imaging can also help us retrieve valuable diagnostic information. We may be able to see cavities better.

Digital X-rays offer more precision since we view the image on a computer monitor, instead of holding up a 35mm film up to the light. Digital X-rays results in 1/6th the radiation exposure to you. The image is instantly displayed on computer monitor in the operatory for immediate review and evaluation. This also eliminates the need for film and processing chemicals.
Magnifying Telescopes with Fiber Optic Illumination
These through-the-lens eyepieces allow for high-powered magnification of the treatment site with intense illumination.
Operating Microscope
The introduction of the surgical microscope has revolutionized the field of Endodontic Microsurgery. We have invested in the very best quality surgical microscope, by Carl Zeiss, that provide unparalleled magnification and illumination for our procedures requiring them.
Our success depends on us being able to see the minutest of details – you cannot treat what you cannot see. In addition, we have incorporated the latest high definition video allowing us to record our procedures with unequalled clarity and detail.
Intraoral Cameras
This allows the endodontist to take a photograph of the tooth to aid the patient in understanding the diagnosis, findings and treatment, and to convey these visual findings to the restorative dentist. The images are instantly displayed on a computer monitor in the operatory.
Electronic Health Records
Patient information is stored in a secure digital format so our practice is able to quickly and accurately access patient information in order to provide the best patient care. This helps to ensure patient confidentiality as well as reduce the need for paper.
