Internal Bleaching
Some anterior (front) teeth can stain or discolor as a result of trauma or a leaking restoration. If the discolored or darkened tooth is a significantly darker shade than the surrounding tooth then it is likely an internal stain. Internal bleaching can improve the shade and create a more esthetically pleasing color. Internal bleaching requires that the tooth be treated with root canal therapy first, or possibly a root canal retreatment prior to bleaching. This typically takes multiple visits.
